DEAREST 6D:hurrahhhhhhh!! ur lazy welfare rep has finally decided on the venue and details of the JTS!
Venue: Fish and Co. (seniors voted for it)
Date and Time: undecided. it won't be so soon cuz i told laoniang all of us are BROKE after paying for all the TYS, newsweek, classfund.. and so the list goes on. i'll keep u all updated.
Each person pays $15 to MAX. Laoniang says the seniors will only be given $15 each. if they want to order more, they will have to fork out the money themselves.
And in return, our beloved senior class will treat us to MARCHE (:
same thing, we each have $15 to spend.

In 254BC, the Seleucids were at the height of their power. Led by the great Seleucid King Antischrus, son of Antichorus, the Seleucids looked set to dominate the whole of Middle East. After defeating the Egyptians at the mighty battle of Sinai, and successfully repeling the northern armies of Armenia, the Empire has achieved relative stability and peace. the King decides it is time to march eastward to destroy their nemesis, Pontus, which have been raiding their borders for years now.One by one, the Pontic armies fell to the might of the Seleucids, and soon, the Seleucids were in sight of the Pontic capital. However, the outpost oof Ancyra stands in their way. Defended by an army of 3000, Horatius' army is only half the size of it. Ancyra was captured after a successful siege and Horatius army captured the settlement.
Unknown to him, Pontus has already gathered a huge army, ready to recapture the settlement and push the Seleucids back to Antioch. The siege of Ancyra has began and the invasion of Turkey by the Seleucids look set to come to an abrupt halt. The city has been totally surrounded and cut off from the outside world. Reinforcements will take at least 12 more months to arrive. There was no more time. To add more trouble, Horatius fell victim to the West nile fever, and there was no general to lead the defense of Ancyra. In 251BC, Pontus attacked Ancyra. An army of 2000, 5 times the Seleucid army attacked Ancyra.
At 0500 hrs in the Seleucid camp, the morale of the troops are low, and some even thought o surrendering to Pontus. "The Gods have abandoned us. This settlement is doomed. Let us defect to Pontus, they may even spare our miserable lives, the soldiers lamented. Captain Adeimanthos, trusted lieutenant to the late General Horatius, immediately crushed all thoughts of rebellion by executing those who spread rumours about losing and swaying the army's morale.
As he looked across the horizon, he could see dust swirling up. Could the death of the General be an omen, that they will be crushed by the enemy? "organise the defenses! Pikemen stand behind the walls!" By now, the pontic army had arrived at the gates of the city.
The gates flew open and the walls crumbled underneath the siege weapons and Pontic spearmen charged into the city.
"Soldiers, hold your ground. You are sons of Alexander! King of the world. Push the enemy back. You are peerless in your skills! Stay together!" Adeimanthos hollered from the back of his elephant. The flood of the enemy porved too much to bear and the pikemen began moving backwards. "Present the phalanx of pikes to the enemy, Do not let them through!"
"Ares! guide my sword so that i can drive it through my enemy's heart. Protect me the stakes and i shall sacrifice sheep in honour of you," a pikemen muttered as he stabbed wildly.
As the horde of Pontic soldiers break against the phalanx of pikes like water, they began to retreat in droves. the turning point of the battle was when the general was slain in the heat of battle.
As the enemy retreated, light Seleucid calavry charged forward and swept the enemy of their feet, picking out the remaining flesh from the bones of the Pontic Army. The victory was complete and crushing.

The cancellation of public elections and the refusal of the right of plebians to speak in the Senate is a defilation of democracy. Jassineri will not tolerate this any longer. rest assured that anyone who defect to our nation will be granted full state protection of the mauling claws of the Chancellor's evil troops.
Our country boasts of the most powerful economy in the world with national GDP reaching to a new max. height of $1 in the year 2005. it is due to the effiency of our ministries of economy and propoganda, constantly brainwashing the people into working extremely hard for the nation. There are reports that people even die when working to produce for the country, but those reporters have been blessed and rewarded with a one-way trip to meet their makers. This is the spirit of our people! All for one! and one for none!

Just hours after the announcement to dissolve the nominated-member legislative council of the senate this morning by the Chancellor, protesters have took to the streets to denounce the decision. 47 government vehicles were reported torched by angry youths which were most affected by the change in law. The situation calmed down only after the Chancellor reacted in the most brutal of fashion. He reportedly ordered the 136th Infantry Regiment of the Elite Jarofa Department to gun down all the protesters.The final death toil was 12,032 with 12,000 dead from the Army. 60,000 civilians suffered minor injuries and were treated as outpatients in the nearby hospitals. The Special Response Unit have been called into action to crack down on any anti-government activitis and those suspected of treason will be detained for an indefinite period of time without trial.

okok.. look at the title. there will be a mock SPA on titration the coming monday... so everyone, please prepare your reporting skills blah blah over the wkend...Oh i have a suggestion for the sabbaticals. why not the whole class go for 1-star kayaking for the second run? hehe.. cos i will be at 2-star during the second run. =) aiyah. take it as a chance to learn/revise your skills and get a certification...And class bonding session!

hmmm. so today. i was telling puay hian. not everything has an opposite. he refuses to believe me no matter what. he just wouldn't care. i tried pulling out all the last strands of his pigumao, but he wouldn't budge. i always thought that it is impossible to defy the mafia boss. serious. he wouldn't dare. so he went on talking about why everything has an opposite. he gave me the example of the hour and minute hand on the grandmother clock. he said," hmm. look at that clock over there." so i turned my head and did exactly as told. "look carefully." i did so. "look very very carefully." yes. "look at the minute hand and the hour hand." and he began his lecture on why everything has an opposite. "tell me what did u notice about the hands.they r not hands actually right? they r arrows which point towards a certain direction. they r arrows which tell u the time. they aren't hands. not limbs. it would be crazy to call them limbs." yes. "So if u look at the min. arrow carefully, it see it turning in a clockwise direction. why clockwise? because the guy who invented the clock, say hmmm. the clockwise direction IS the clockwise direction and Not the anti-clockwise direction. and when it moves in a clockwise direction, the gear inside moves in the opposite direction. smart?" yes. "and the hour arrow? it moves the distance of wad the min arrow will move in 5 minutes, after 60X60 ticks of the second arrow." ya so? "why? because the opposite is definitely untrue." wow. that really struck me. i was beginning to think that everythin does indeed have an opposite. but a voice in my head told me not to budge. it told me, wven if the sky falls down, u will have to stand your ground. even when the nefarious, noisy, noxious, negative, nervous, Njeri, njiaer, nkaeri, nafri nemesis tries to negate ur belief, hold firm. be true to your thoughts. so i did. and i asked puay hian. "what's the opposite of light."Heavy, he said. "nah, wrong. tat's not the opposite. it is dark." "opposite of right?" left, he said. "nah, wrong." "opposite of high?" low, he said. "no, conscious." "opposite of girl?" boy, he said. "no. defintely not." why. "coz there r no opposites. why would a boy be the opposite of a girl when actually a certain Jaoni Daeros of the Cannibal tribe in the southern pacific isle of CJorke discover Singapore a whole 100 years before Sang Nila Utama saw Temasek? There are no opposite. U think there is, coz it's merely an illusion of one. Noone defines opposite correctly. it is subjective. so opposite of a beast, may not be a transformer. it may be a girl to some. opposite of nancy sit may not be lin chiling, but it may be kangkang. get me? there r no opposites to everything. there r just some things which don't have an opposite. like the word, opposite.
